Bio-Sketch: Dick Rylander
Dick has over 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical
arena. He holds bachelor degrees in marketing and finance as well as an
MBA. His experience spans sales, management, marketing, training, managed
care and operations. He has completed special programs at USC; Kellogg;
the University of Chicago and is a member of World at Work. He worked
for Parke-Davis/Pfizer for 26 years prior to helping start the US division
of Actelion Pharmaceuticals where he spent 5+ years.
Prior to starting BioPharmaceutical Strategies
LLC Dick held the following positions and responsibilities:
Vice President Commercial Operations & IT
Actelion Pharmaceuticals US
Created and developed the entire commercial
operations structure of the US Affiliate including the:

- Supported 160+ users as well as Canada and South America

At Parke-Davis/Pfizer he worked almost

- Head of Incentive Compensation US where he developed and administered
incentive plans and contests for over 2500 field sales colleagues as
well as new product launches
- Sales Management in Primary Care and Hospital groups

- Sales positions including primary care, cardiovascular and hospital
- Product management internships and special projects
- 16 product launches
Dick and his wife Barbara also have owned 3 successful private businesses
where they learned and implemented the steps necessary to succeed. Dick
has started neighborhood associations, a cub scout pack, a drag racing
association and participated in other community efforts. His athletic
involvement ranges from bowling to golf to soccer. He has been a certified
soccer and basketball official. He is an avid reader of science fiction
and fantasy.
